Journal Entry 7 June 2021
We have decided to keep a journal or chronicle of events and general things happening starting 7 June 2021.
This will provide you with insights as to what is happening at Safari With Us (SWU)as well as other useful and general information. Winter has started and it is rather cold in Johannesburg. Winter is of course a good time to go on safari as sightings tend to be better due to sparser vegetation in the reserves. For guests going on a winter safari, remember to take warm clothes as it can be freezing cold on early morning and evening game drives.
We are looking forward to receiving the second Hefy group arriving in Johannesburg on 9 June 2021. They will be going to Kruger and Mozambique. All went well with the first group and we will do our best to ensure all goes well with the second group as well.
Though international travel is still sluggish, we are receiving guests from Italy and Russia later this month. It is great to see people travel again. Volumes are still low but we hope for a strong rebound soon. We expect inquiries and bookings from the US to pick up strongly over the next weeks and months.
We are all tired of this pandemic and just want get on with our lives and livelihoods and experience the joys of travel again. After all, it is the exciting things in life that make those special moments and memories. And travel is right up there when it comes to fun, excitement and adventure.

Like many other tourism companies, we are still waiting for our business interruption settlement from our insurers. Hopefully there will be movement on this in the coming days. These are tough times for tourism, but we are resilient and determined to get past this pandemic and back to better times.
