Day by Day Itinerary for 8 Day Vic Falls and Chobe Safari
Day 1: Depart from South Africa to Botswana
(Johannesburg to Martins Drift Border Post: 500 km. Martins Drift to Serowe : 155 km)
We make an early morning departure from Johannesburg & Pretoria. Comfort stops en-route. Driving through the Waterberg area we head for the Botswana border. Border formalities at Martins Drift border post.
After our border crossing you will have the opportunity to exchange currencies. Then we head north to Serowe and Khama Rhino Sanctuary. This is a community based wild life project that endeavors to protect the endangered Rhinoceros as well as other species. The project is also of economic benefit to the local community through tourism and sustainable land use. The camp is set beautifully under large Manketti trees and is impeccably maintained.
We check in at nearby hotel.
You will enjoy a late afternoon game drive in the sanctuary.
Overnight in Lodge near Serowe .
Day 2: Elephant sands in Botswana
(Serowe to Elephant Sands near Nata: Distance 400 km)
After breakfast we leave Serowe behind and make our way to Nata and the Elephant Sands rest camp.
Check in at camp.
Do expect to see elephants at the waterhole and around the camp site.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Magnificent Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
(Nata to Victoria Falls: Distance 320 km)
After breakfast we depart for Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. After border formalities we cross into Zimbabwe. It is short drive to Vic Falls. Check in at hotel.
In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the Falls.
Victoria Falls which is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The waterfall is 1700 meters (1.1 mile) wide, of which 1300 meters is on the Zimbabwean side, including the main falls.
Late afternoon we will do a sunset dinner cruise on the 4th largest river in Africa (the Zambezi River), which has national parks on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides.

Day 4: Magnificent Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
After breakfast you will have plenty of free time whilst in Victoria Falls to explore the town, meet the locals, visit the African arts and craft markets, relax by the pool in the heat of the day, and to take part in some of the many optional activities on offer here.

Day 5: Chobe National Park (Botswana)
(Vic Falls to Chobe NP in Kasane: Distance 90 km)
After an early breakfast we depart for Kasane. This will be our gateway to the Chobe National Park. Check in at lodge. If there is enough time you can enjoy an optional morning river safari (own cost). Later enjoy a light lunch at the lodge.
In the late afternoon we will go on an exciting sunset river safari that will take you into Chobe National Park and its rich and abundant wildlife.

Day 6: Kasane to Francistown
(Kasane to Francistown: 500 km)
We start with and early morning coffee or tea and biscuits followed by a riveting game drive into the Chobe National Park. After your game drive we enjoy a hearty breakfast. We then depart for Francistown.
We arrive Francistown early afternoon. You can spend some quiet time or partake in optional activities such as a visit to the museum or the Domboshaba ruins.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Overnight close to the border
(Francistown to Martins Drift Border: 270 km)
After breakfast we depart and make our way to the South African border. After border formalities we take a short drive to a lodge near the border. We will spend the last night of our tour at Buffalo Thorn or a similar lodge.

Day 8: Return to Johannesburg, South Africa
(Return to Johannesburg: Distance 600 km)
After breakfast we will make our way back to Johannesburg / Pretoria. Drop off early afternoon by arrangement. The tour officially end here.
