Day by Day Itinerary for Kruger Treehouse Safari

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger

We provide door-to-door pick-ups in Johannesburg. We’ll drive in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle via the Highveld farmlands to the scenic Lowveld and our Game Lodge in Greater Kruger. Along the way, we stop for lunch in a quaint village.

After arrival and check in at the lodge, you may rest in your air-conditioned chalet, have an invigorating dip in the pool, unwind at the bar or relax in the beautiful gardens.

Later that afternoon, we’ll start your Sunset Game Drive in an open Landcruiser. After dark, spotlights are used to locate nocturnal animals. Dinner will be a Bush Braai at the new Marula Tree Boma. You’ll stay overnight in en suite chalets at one of our participating lodges. Good night!

Day 2: Greater Kruger activities

Awaken at sunrise for an exhilarating day in the bush! We’ll drive you to a remote part of the Balule Game Reserve, where you enjoy a 4-hour bush walk with and armed ranger. Your experienced and armed field guides will lead you through the bush at a comfortable pace as we search for animals and wildlife.

You’ll also learn interesting facts about the bush and the eco-systems of the wild. The excitement and thrill of a real bush walk in the wild will certainly get the adrenaline flowing. During this walk, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to take some amazing photos or even record a video.

We’ll return to the bush lodge for brunch. After some free time, we’ll go on an afternoon game drive in a private reserve. Afterwards we transfer to the treehouse camp where you will overnight in one of the fascinating and romantic treehouses.

Day 3: Kruger National Park

Today, you’ll spend a full day in the Kruger National Park. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll drive to the Orpen Gate section of Kruger Park. After some paper work and formalities, we’ll enter the park in our open-sided land-cruiser. The absence of windows and the elevated vantage position makes for excellent photographic opportunities.

You will have an amazing chance not only to view game but also to listen to the sounds of wildlife and inhale the smell the African bush and its denizens.

You will enjoy lunch at one of the Kruger Park rest camps. During the afternoon game drive, your experienced ranger will show you many animals and birds that frequent this wildlife paradise. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions boast open plains that are home to large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope who naturally attract numerous predators.

You will also have a good chance to see most, if not all, of the Big Five (Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo). In fact, the zones we visit have the highest concentration of lions in Africa!

After our day in Kruger Main, we’ll return to the treehouse camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Greater Kruger activities

Enjoy another full day of game viewing in the Kruger National Park. Another full day in the Kruger National Park offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the African bush and observe its wildlife. You will also allow you to go through the different habitats of the park and hopefully give you the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife and you may also be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the park's rarest species. A full second day game drive in the Kruger National Park will leave you with unforgettable memories of your safari experience!

After our full day in the park we'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Return to Johannesburg

We’ll enjoy an early morning 45-minute easy Nature Walk. You will be shown various interesting details of the bush, including insects, spoor and scats and will have an excellent chance of encountering Nyala and other game on foot.

After a hearty breakfast, we depart Kruger and start our journey back to Johannesburg. We then drive to the amazing Blyde River Canyon and view the splendour of the Three Rondavels.

We continue back to Johannesburg; lunch stop on the way. We’ll arrive in Johannesburg late afternoon. Drop off by arrangement.
