DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG – KRUGER

Day by Day Itinerary for 5 Day Luxury Sabi Sands Combo Safari

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger

We’ll depart early from Johannesburg / Pretoria and drive East toward Greater Kruger. This route showcases some of the finest farmlands and mountain passes in South Africa. En route, we’ll stop for brunch / lunch (at your own cost) at one of the restaurants en-route.

After lunch we make our way towards our luxury lodge in Greater Kruger. This lodge is unfenced which adds to the thrill and authentic nature of this safari. After check in you will have some time to relax before you board an open 4×4 vehicle for an exciting sunset game drive in Greater Kruger.

Day 2: Greater Kruger

This morning you will enjoy coffee and biscuits before departing on a thrilling sunrise game drive in the greater Kruger reserve. Here game drives often take you off-road as the guide tracks animals in the wild. Expect some intense sightings as the guide gets you as close as possible to the wild animals. You stop for refreshments somewhere deep in the bush.

After refreshments you continue your on the edge of your seat game drive through the African Bush. Later you return to the lodge for a scrumptious breakfast. Afterwards you can enjoy some quiet time. The beautiful deck overlooks a nearby water hole that often attracts various animals. Later you will depart on a bush walk with your armed ranger.

After your riveting bush walk you will enjoy a light lunch. During the afternoon you can relax and enjoy quiet time or keep an eye on the waterhole. You never know when animals might show up!

Late afternoon you will depart on a sunset and night game drive. The guide uses a spotlight to locate nocturnal animals.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Greater Kruger to Sabi Sands

This morning you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast we will leave this lodge behind and you will be transferred to a luxury lodge in Sabi Sands.

After checking in and getting to know the lodge, you will leave on an exciting sunset game drive.

You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Sabi Sands Activities

In the early morning, we will meet for light refreshments, juice, tea / coffee followed by a Game drive in an open land cruiser. We will have a tea and coffee stop en-route.

Afterwards, we will head back to the lodge where breakfast will be served.

After breakfast you will have some personal time to relax. Some things to do include: swimming, sunbathing, optional bush walk, optional spa treatment.

In the early afternoon we will have a high tea and light lunch.

Day 5: Return to Johannesburg via Panorama Route

This is the last day of your African Combo Safari. This morning you will do a quick 90 minute sunrise game before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast we leave Kruger behind and make our way along the Panorama route stopping at God’s Windows and the Blyde River Canyon (the world’s 3rd largest Canyon). You will enjoy breathtaking views and have plenty of photo opportunities along this scenic route.

We then make our way back to Johannesburg. Drop off by arrangement, late afternoon, early evening.
