You can experience exceptional hot air balloon flights from selected venues in South Africa.
These venues are chosen for their breath-taking scenery, favorable ballooning weather, accommodation options and tourism interests. Hot Air Ballooning is an exciting but gentle experience that is suitable for all.

Prices vary from 2500 to 5000 ZAR per person, depending on location and number of guests. There will be additional cost for private flights for 2 or small groups.

The Winelands Cape Town

Departing at dawn from a launch site in Paarl, your flight takes you over the scenic Berg River Valley  and provides amazing views of the magnificent Cape Fold Mountain Range. See the sun as it  rises into view from behind the stark silhouette of the mountains; a truly spectacular sight.

On clear mornings you can see all the way to iconic Table Mountain 55-kilometers away to the west and even the rocky finger of the Cape Peninsula. 

As you gently drift in the morning breeze you pass over  over vineyards, wheat fields and the attractive Cape-Dutch manor houses of grand old wine estates.  See amazing reflections of light from farm dams and the tendrils of mist over the valley.

After your 1 hour flight you will be treated to a delicious breakfast, before being returned to the meeting point.

Cost ZAR 3900 per adult.  ZAR 3200 per child (8-12 years of age)

Gauteng's Cradle of Humankind

Departs from a launch site in at the Cradle of Humankind.  On arrival enjoy a cuppa and biscuits. Once in the air the tranquility is palpable. The silence is only punctuated by the occasional blast of the whisper burners and the faint call of a bird or animal below. 

Sip fine champagne while floating on the gentle morning breeze.  Drift over the tree tops of the beautiful Magalies River Valley and float majestically high above the Magaliesberg range.  Once landed the ground crew will pick you up and transfer you to the breakfast venue.

Pilanesberg Game Reserve, North West

Departs at dawn from a launch site near the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

Pilanesberg BIG Five  Game Reserve is home to an abundance of wild life. Experience a birds eye-view of this magnificent park.  This elevated height on our balloon flights will  give you a stunning view of unforgettable landscapes and wildlife in their natural environment.

The flight lasts for about an hour’s  and on landing, sparkling wine is served. This is followed by a leisurely game drive to the Wallow bush venue where breakfast is served, after which guests are returned to their hotel.

KwaZulu-Natal

Fly from one of KwaZulu-Natal’s finest ballooning sites. These include a mountainous backdrop in the central Drakensberg (Champagne Valley) or an English countryside scenery in the KZN Midlands.

See the rolling hills of the Natal Midlands as you drift over Champagne Valley in the Majestic Drakensberg Mountains or the beautiful Tala Valley just 45 minutes from Durban. 

Enjoy a one-hour flight which is part of a 4-hour adventure and includes hot drinks before you fly, sparkling wine when you land and a scrumptious breakfast to complete the package.

Mpumalanga Kruger Area

Balloon flights are in the lowveld section of the Blyde River and offer glimpses of wild bushveld, pretty farms and the distant amphitheatre of the Drakensberg Escarpment. Then enjoy perfect silence as you skim at just over tree height or float up to 2000 feet in the sky watching the shadowy landscape unfold below you.

Though it can’t be guaranteed, there’s a good chance you’ll spot plains animals like giraffe or wildebeest and our professional pilots are also skilled nature interpreter’s.
