Day by Day Itinerary for 3 Day Cape Town to Port Elizabeth Tour

Day 1: Cape Town – Oudtshoorn (Little Karoo)

We make an early  morning departure from the Mother City and head towards  the semi-arid region known as the Little Karoo. We drive along the renowned and  scenic Route 62.  En route you will see beautiful wine lands and awesome landscapes as we make our way to the town of Oudtshoorn, the capital of the Little Karoo.  Outshoorn is also known as the ostrich capital of the world and is located in a lush and fertile valley between the majestic Outeniqua and Swartberg  mountain ranges. Here you can choose between the following 2 activites.

1)Guided tour of the world renowned Cango Caves.  This massive cave system is a world heritage site and you will be amazed by its massive caverns and wonderland of stalactite and stalagmite formations that are millions of years old

2)A guided tour of the Cango Endangered Wildlife Ranch for an opportunity for to view many wild animals including cheetah, crocodiles, birds, snakes, hogs, vultures, white lions, African leopards, white snow tigers and many more. Learn about the Cheetah conservation program and other wildlife preservation initiatives

We then make our way over the Outeniqua Mountains to the lush coastal region known as the Garden Route where we will head to the lagoon and beach town of Sedgefield. We check in at a local backpackers where we spend our first night. If time allows we will also head to the beach for a swim in the Indian Ocean.

Day 2:  Sedgefield – Jeffreys Bay

After breakfast we drive along the scenic Garden Route passing through the town of Knysna on our way to the Crags. Here you have a number of options to choose from:

1)Elephant Sanctuary where you can learn about orphaned elephants.

2)Monkey Sanctuary where rescued monkeys roam free in a large jungle area.

3)Birds of Eden

Our next stop is the World’s highest commercial Bungee Jump at 216 meters where you have the opportunity to experience this adrenaline pumping activity.

Finally, to end the day we take a beautiful walk through the indigenous Tsitsikamma National Park to the Storms river swing bridges before we head to the famous surfing town of Jeffreys Bay. Here we check into a local backpackers where we stay overnight.

Day 3: Jeffreys Bay – Addo Elephant Park

There are 2 options to choose from this morning.
1) Sleep late and enjoy own time. Explore the towns many surf factory shops, or go for a surf lesson in one of the most famous surf spots on earth.

2) Wake up early and head to Addo Elephant National park where we go on a morning game drive to view the multitudes of wild animals. Addo is home to the Big 5 and it also has the highest concentration of African Elephants in the world!

The 3 day Garden Route tour ends here. We can arrange transfer to Port Elizabeth or Knysna. Drop off at Port Elizabeth Airport is around 2 pm so book  a flight accordingly.
