Beautiful Cape Winelands Private Tour

Cape Town is the gateway to the South African wine lands and one of the great wine capitals of the world.

The rich history of these wine lands date back to 1679. This is when then governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel  started to establish Stellenbosch as an agricultural region.  Watered by the Eerste Rivier (First River), Stellenbosch is now one of the leading wine regions. During this tour we will visit Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch and you will get first hand experience of the expertise handed over by the early Dutch and French winemakers.

Itinerary

Paarl and Franschoek wine lands

Our first stop is the town of Paarl. Here we will do a cellar tour through the world renowned Cathedral Cellar, sampling some of the finest wines of the area.

Our next tasting will be a combination of Method Cup Classique (our version of champagne) and remarkable wines from the Franschoek Valley while having views over the valley itself

Long hailed as the culinary capital of South Africa, Franschoek is where we will have the opportunity to sample one of the many top class eateries scattered along the main road

Stellenbosch wine lands and chocolate pairing

After a nice relaxed lunch we’ll head through the student town of Stellenbosch, with a history of education dating back as far as the 17th century, often compared to prestigious regions such as Napa and Sonoma, where an elite class of wine estates have emerged as leaders and ambassadors for the countries wine making potential, Stellenbosch is where the real stars and pioneers are mostly to be found.

We finish off with a Chocolate and wine pairing overlooking the Stellenbosch valley, arriving back in Cape Town late afternoon after an satisfying day out in the Cape Winelands
