About the Lodge

Inyati Game Lodge is situated in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve which is a private game reserve sharing a common unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. It spans 50 000 hectares and is renowned for providing some of the best game viewing in Africa. The reserve is not open to the general public with each private lodge having exclusive traversing rights over their area.

Inyati’s rangers drive specially designed safari vehicles which are allowed off-road, ensuring you get exclusive and intimate game viewing opportunities. The reserve has a dense concentration of wildlife and is home to the Big 5 – elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wild dogs and a vast variety of antelope and other species may also be closely observed, free roaming within their own territories. Inyati is one of the best places in the world to get up close and personal with the elusive leopard.

If the weather permits, you can also dine at the traditional boma near a crackling fire and enjoy fine cuisine and wines. Bush dinners under the African night sky are also available and you can sip on a range of superior South African wines produced in the Cape. As daylight fades, you can enjoy a timeless safari tradition: the sundowner.

Safaris and Bush Walks

At Inyati, you can enjoy an unforgettable safari experience with the help of highly trained and experienced rangers and trackers. On morning and afternoon/evening game drives in open 4–wheel drive safari vehicles, you can get up close to Africa‘s most impressive wildlife with the guidance of expert guides and Shangaan trackers. The game drives traverse an area of 10 000 hectares (24 700 acres), and vehicle limits at sightings ensure the exclusivity of your game viewing experience. For the ultimate close to the wild experience, bush walks are a must for all nature enthusiasts. During these walks, you can discover the interesting world of trees, grasses, flowers, geology, and ecology, and even have the chance to spot the “Big 5“. Bush walks take place either before or just after breakfast, depending on the time of the year and the prevailing weather conditions.
