At The Bush House, you can experience the thrill of viewing wildlife up close in the first and original underground hide built in Madikwe. Whether you‘re using a phone camera, state–of–the–art equipment, or something in between, you‘ll have plenty of opportunities to capture incredible photos of animals and birds coming to drink at the floodlit waterhole. You might even be lucky enough to witness elephants passing by close enough to touch, or get splashed by a mischievous youngster! The hide‘s roof is just above ground level and reinforced to support the weight of any elephant that may wander across the top.
It‘s easy and safe for guests to access the tunnel and hide from the lodge garden or the swimming pool, and the front of the hide has an expanded metal grid that can quickly be dropped for extra security. The pathways, tunnel and hide are all lit at night, so you can explore 24 hours a day. Plus, there‘s a ramp for easy access, and bean bags are provided for guest use.
