Day by Day Itinerary for Kruger Luxury Safari

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger

We’ll depart early from Johannesburg / Pretoria and drive East toward the Kruger National Park. This route showcases some of the finest farmlands and mountain passes in South Africa. En route, we’ll stop for brunch / lunch (own cost) at one of the restaurants en-route.

After lunch we make our way towards our lodge in Hazyview.  After check in you will have some time to relax before you board an open 4×4 vehicle for an exciting 2 hour sunset game drive in the Kruger National Park.

Dinner & Overnight in comfortable accommodation.

Day 2: Kruger National Park

This morning is an early start around 5 am. After coffee and rusks you board an open land cruiser for a full day game drive in Kruger National Park. This game drive starts at the Phabeni gate and ends at the Orpen Gate. During this game drive you will experience different areas of Kruger National Park.  You will have plenty of game viewing opportunities and great photographic moments.  We stop for lunch at one of the parks rest camps (own account).

You will be transfered to an exclusive luxury lodge deep in the bush. This is the non-commercial area of Kruger and is not open to the public. The lodge is unfenced, solar powered and absolutely stunning. The lodge sleeps a max of 10 people. That is what we mean when we say exclusive.

Dinner and overnight in luxury accommodation. A private chef is included in the package.

Day 3: Greater Kruger

This morning you will enjoy coffee and biscuits before departing on a thrilling sunrise game drive in the greater Kruger reserve. Here game drives often take you off-road as the guide tracks animals in the wild. Expect some intense sightings as the guide gets you as close as possible to the wild animals. You stop for refreshments somewhere deep in the bush.

After refreshments you continue your on the edge of your seat game drive through the African Bush. Later you return to the lodge for a scrumptious breakfast. Afterwards you can enjoy some quiet time. The beautiful deck overlooks a nearby water hole that often attracts various animals.  Later you will depart on a bush walk with your armed ranger.

After your riveting bush walk you will enjoy a light lunch. During the afternoon you can relax and enjoy quiet time or keep an eye on the waterhole. You never know when animals might show up!

Late afternoon you will depart on a sunset and night game drive. The guide uses a spotlight to locate nocturnal animals.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Greater Kruger 

After waking up yet again in one of the most beautiful places in the world you will enjoy coffee and biscuits before departing on another thrilling sunrise game drive in the greater Kruger reserve. Hopefully making some new sightings and just taking in the awe of the place you are in. You stop for refreshments somewhere deep in the bush.

After refreshments you continue your on the edge of your seat game drive through the African Bush. Later you return to the lodge for a scrumptious breakfast. Afterwards you can enjoy some quiet time. Day 5: Return to Johannesburg

This is the last day of your African Safari. This morning you will do a quick 90 minute sunrise game before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast we leave Kruger behind and make our way along the Panorama route stopping at Blyde River Canyon (the world’s 3rd largest Canyon). You will enjoy breathtaking views and have  plenty of photo opportunities along this scenic route.

We then make our way back to Johannesburg. Drop off by arrangement, late afternoon, early evening.
