Okavango Delta Chobe Victoria Falls

Schedule

Day 1 : Depart from South Africa to Botswana(Khama Rhino Sanctuary / )

We depart early morning and our route takes us through the Waterberg towards the border of Botswana. After formalities at the Martins Drift border post you will have an opportunity to exchange money. From the border we drive to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. We do a late afternoon game drive in the sanctuary.  We overnight at Khama or Masama lodge depending on availability. Dinner included.

Day 2 : Maun (Botswana)

After breakfast we depart and travel north through this semi desert country. We drive through the central Kalahari and then up to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Overnight in the lodge in Maun. Dinner included.

Day 3 : Mokoro Day Trip – Okavango Delta

Today you will spend time in the Okavango Delta for the bush experience of a life time. We travel in 4×4 vehicles through the Mopani forest and into the Delta.  There we will enjoy a Mokoro (dug-out canoe) ride on the waterways of this 14000 square kilometer wildlife wilderness. You will also enjoy game walks in the Okavango Delta. Few things compare with the tranquility of the Delta. Walking safaris and wildlife are on our doorstep for you to enjoy.

We return to Maun late  afternoon. Overnight in your chalet.

Day 4: Maun (Botswana) – optional activities

Today you can participate in optional activities such as scenic flight over the Delta and a visit to a cultural village where can also learn about the art of basket making.  Overnight Maun lodge.

Day 5 : Nata in Botswana

After breakfast we depart from Maun and make our way to Nata and then on to Elephant Sands, a beautiful campsite where elephants (and other animals) often come to drink at the waterhole, This afternoon you can relax at the camp’s swimming pool or at the waterhole, and this evening we will enjoy dinner at the on-site restaurant, over-looking the waterhole.

Day 6 : Chobe National Park in Botswana

There is an option this morning to go on an early game drive (own cost).

After breakfast we continue north to Kasane, where we will be staying at a resort near the Chobe National Park. Here we often see hippo and large herds of animals. You will have the opportunity to change money and / or relax at the swimming pool.

This afternoon we will embark on a river safari on the Chobe River, which is one of the best river cruises you could wish to do. Apart from a huge variety of birdlife, you may also see crocodile, hippos, and probably even elephants washing and playing in the water or swimming across the river.

Day 7:  Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls)

This morning there is an option to do another early game drive (own cost), this time into the Chobe National Park, returning to camp in time for breakfast.

We will leave after breakfast and make our way further north towards the Zimbabwe border post. This drive takes us through the Kasane forest where we often see herds of elephants and a variety of antelopes. From the border we drive another hour to thevibrant town of Victoria Falls where we will be spending the next 2 nights. The campsite is situated in the middle of town, within 10 minutes walking distance of just about everything. Your guide will assist you with the bookings of optional activities. The US dollar is the currency to use in Victoria Falls / Zimbabwe.

Today you will visit the magnificent Victoria Falls National Park, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Falls are 1700 meters (1.1 miles) wide, making it the largest sheet of falling water in the world. The Zimbabwean side is the best side to view the waterfall from, as 1400 meters of the waterfall is on the Zimbabwean side, as well as the main falls.

Late afternoon you will enjoy a Zambezi river cruise. Overnight in a chalet in the rest camp.

Day 8 : Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe

Today you can enjoy some of the many optional activities on offer.  Or you could do some shopping at the craft markets, or go for high tea at the famous Victoria Falls Hotel. There are many optional activities such as scenic flight over the falls, various river activities, gorge swing, bungee jumping,  a village tour and a boma dinner.

Day 9 : Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe

This is the last day of your tour. You will have time to do some more optional activities before heading to the airport.

We also offer a 3 day overland return transfer at a cost of 250 USD per person.
