The last stretch: Cape Town – Franklin University

And now, a visit to Cape Town: Day 10 & 11

On the tenth day of the tour, the students and the professor along with our two guides made their way to the Mother City – Cape Town via airplane. When they arrived, they continued on with the tour with two quantum busses. On the first day in Cape Town, the students went up Table Mountain which was extraordinary! They witnessed the most beautiful African sunset one can wish for. Have a look here.

More about Table Mountain

Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town in South Africa. It is a significant tourist attraction. Many visitors use the cable way to get to the top. Others will take the more adventurous route and hike to the top. The mountain forms part of the Table Mountain National Park. Table Mountain is home to a large variety of fauna and flora, most of which is endemic.

And then it was the last day….

On their second day in Cape Town, the students (those who dared to) took part in shark cage diving in Gansbaai. This is one for the adrenaline junkies, but those who participated, enjoyed it very much, and now have an exciting story to tell. For dinner they went to Africa Café. Africa Café is one special restaurant. Here, they serve a seven course meal with dishes from all over the African continent. With every dish come a story and an explanation of WHAT you are eating and also HOW it should be eaten. Very interesting and beyond delicious!

Heading back to Switzerland

And so the last day of the tour has arrived. Luckily, their flight was only late night and they still had the entire day left to explore and enjoy. And what else is there to do than the beautiful Peninsula route?  They drove via Chapmans Peak to the South most Western tip of South Africa. They also visited Builders beach which is well known for its penguins walking around freely in town

And so the professor and the students are on their way back home to Switzerland after almost two weeks of beauty, lots of learning and experiences to last a life time.
