The Chobe National Park and in particular the Chobe River Front is a sought after safari destination. Its close proximity to the magnificent Victoria Falls adds to its appeal with tourists and visitors. As part of our 7 day Chobe-Vic Falls tour we visited the Chobe National Park. During our visit in June 2015 we stayed at the River Lodge.
It is a very nice lodge with comfortable accommodation, pool, restaurant and bar facilities. After settling around midday we had time to relax before our sunset river trip. Probably the best way to explore the region from a safari point of view is to go on a river trip. There are different types of boats from lazy cruisers to high speed catamarans. We chose the high speed one. Watch the video below to get an idea.
During a Chobe River safari you will see many elephants and sometimes a group of them swimming across the river.
Close encounters with crocodiles, hippos and buffalo also add to the thrill of a Chobe river safari experience
You will also see a great variety of bird life and a fish eagle is always impressive
Before heading back to shore we had the pleasure of witnessing a spectacular Chobe River sunset
All I can say about the experience is wow!
